Ellen
D. Wagner is Director of Global Higher Education,
Macromedia, Inc. ( www.macromedia.com
) where she helps shape the strategic directions
of the company' s post-secondary education business.
She is also a Director of the Learnativity Alliance
( www.learnativity.org ), a
professional community that monitors and analyzes
effective practices promoting the design, development
and implementation of standards-based learning
content, platforms, programs and tools.
Before
joining Macromedia, Dr. Wagner was Chief Learning
Officer for Viviance AG new education, a Swiss
elearning company with offices in 12 European
and North American countries. She was Chief
Learning Officer and Vice President of Consulting
Services with Informania, Inc. before its acquisition
by Viviance AG.
Dr.
Wagner's prior career as a tenured university
professor and administrator featured positions
as Chair of the Educational Technology Program
at the University of Northern Colorado, as well
as Academic Affairs Coordinator of Instructional
and Research Technologies and Director of Western
Institute for Distance Education. She was also
Visiting Scholar and Project Director at the
Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunication,
Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education.
Wagner's
work has featured technology-based learning
and performance improvement designs and implementations
in numerous industries, including technology,
finance, telecommunications, medical, and banking.
She has wor k ed with such governmental organizations
as the U.S. Department of Defense, the National
Security Agency, The U.S. Department of Commerce,
the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission. Ellen has
designed and managed organization-wide reengineering,
change management, and training programs for
organizations including but not limited to the
New York Stock Exchange, the Canadian Securities
Institute, Wells Fargo Bank, US Bank Corporation,
Dell Computer, Hewlett Packard, the Confederation
of Norwegian Business and Industry, ABB, Norsk
Hydro, the Western Governors University, Kaiser
Permanente, Novell, Sun Microsystems, Volkswagen,
US WEST (now Quest Communications), Nortel,
and AT&T.
Her
Ph.D. in Educational Psychology is from the
University of Colorado , Boulder ; her MS and
BA degrees were earned at the University of
Wisconsin , Madison .
